Why I Chose IT
Choosing a college course is never easy. There are so many options, each with its own opportunities and challenges. Some people go for nursing because it’s in demand, others choose business for its versatility, and some follow engineering for its prestige. For me, the choice was IT.
It wasn’t always my first plan—I was initially drawn to nursing. But life had different plans, and after careful thought, I decided that IT was the best path for me. Here’s why.
The Practicality of IT in Today’s World
Technology is the future. Almost every industry relies on IT, from business and healthcare to entertainment and education. The demand for IT professionals keeps growing, and the best part is that many tech jobs offer flexible work options. Unlike some careers that require physical presence, IT allows remote work, freelancing, and entrepreneurship—all of which give me more control over my career.
Financial Considerations
One of the biggest factors in my decision was financial stability. Studying architecture can be expensive, and I had to be realistic about what I could afford. While other courses like nursing and engineering also have strong job opportunities, they come with costs like internships, materials, and sometimes long years of study.
With IT, all I really need is a laptop, an internet connection, and the drive to learn. Plus, I can start earning early by taking freelance projects, building websites, or selling digital products. That financial flexibility made IT a more practical choice.
